How do you decide between a left join and an inner join when reconciling two sources?
How do you decide between a left join and an inner join when reconciling two sources?
Talking points- Inner join when you only want rows that match on both sides.
- Left join when the left table is your source of truth and you need to see what failed to match.
- For reconciliation, a left join keeps the unpaid orders an inner join would silently drop.
- Check row counts before and after — a count that grows means duplicates on the right.
An answer outline streams in, ready to put into your own words.
