A mock interview in progress: the interviewer’s question about delivering under a tight deadline, the answer recording at 0:09 of 2:00, hints hidden in the side panel, and the camera turned off.
How it works

From setup to feedback in four steps

  1. Set up your interview

Add the role, company and job description — or pick a saved question set. Choose the stage, question type, difficulty and how many questions.

Interview setup: Practice mode selected, role and company filled in, a pasted job description, and choices for stage, type and difficulty.
  2. Check your camera and mic

A quick device check in the lobby. The camera is optional, and nothing is recorded there.

Device check: camera turned off for an audio-only interview, and a microphone level meter.
  3. Answer out loud

The interviewer asks each question aloud and you answer by speaking. Follow-up questions build on what you just said.

A follow-up question that builds on the previous answer about failing open when Redis is down.
  4. Get your report and go again

A score for every answer, what to improve, and a stronger version of what you said. One click re-runs the questions you found hardest.

Two ways to practice

Learn the shape of a good answer, then feel the pressure

Practice mode

Go at your own pace while you build the answer.

  • Hints when you want them, one level at a time
  • Pause, take notes and re-record an answer
  • Choose a time limit per answer — or none

Realistic mode

As close to the real thing as practice gets.

  • Timed answers and no pausing
  • No hints, forward only
  • Follow-up questions based on your answers

Follow-up questions are included on Lite and above.

The feedback report

Feedback you can act on, not just a score

Every interview ends with a report on what you said and how you said it — then points you at the questions worth another go.

Sample interview report: overall score 67 out of 100 marked Developing; a breakdown of content relevance 75, structure 61, clarity 69, confidence and delivery 57, conciseness 71 and technical accuracy 76; delivery metrics of 134 words per minute, 3 filler words, 49-second average answers and 12 pauses; and lists of top strengths and what to work on next.

  2. Six-part breakdownContent relevance, structure, clarity, confidence and delivery, conciseness — and technical accuracy on technical questions.
  3. Delivery metricsSpeaking pace, filler words, answer length and pauses, measured from your answers.
  4. What to work on nextYour top strengths and the few changes that would lift every answer.
Sample question review: the transcript of an answer with the filler words “um” and “basically” highlighted, what went well, what to improve, a stronger rewritten version of the answer, and a follow-up question with its own score.

  2. What went well — and what to fixSpecific notes for each answer, not generic advice.
  3. A stronger versionYour answer rewritten with the structure and specifics it was missing.
  4. Follow-ups, scored tooFollow-up questions sit under the answer they came from.

Questions built from the job you want

Paste the job description and the questions are written for that role, company and stage, using the resume on your profile. Or bring a saved set from Interview Questions.

  • Behavioral, technical or a mix
  • Easy, Standard or Hard
  • 5 to 20 questions, depending on your plan

Hints, not a script

Hints stay hidden until you ask. Each one gives a little more: what the interviewer is looking for, the points to cover, a structure — and only then a sample answer.

  • Four levels, revealed one at a time
  • The report notes how many hints you used
  • Off entirely in Realistic mode
The hints panel with two of four hints revealed — what they’re looking for and the key points to cover — while the answer structure and sample answer stay hidden.

Delivery you can measure

Alongside what you said, the report measures how you said it: speaking pace in words per minute, filler words, how long your answers run and how often you pause.

  • Filler words highlighted in your transcript
  • Pace compared with a comfortable 130–160 wpm
  • Notes when an answer sounds read from the sample
Delivery metrics in a sample report: speaking pace, filler words, average answer length and pauses, above top strengths and the question-by-question review.

See your progress

Every interview is saved to your history. After two or more, a chart shows how your overall score has moved — and “Practice these again” re-runs the questions you scored lowest on.

  • History of past interviews and reports
  • Export any report as a PDF
  • Share a read-only link — recordings are never included
A sample progress chart: overall score rising from 52 to 77 across nine mock interviews.

Your practice stays yours

  • What’s recorded

The audio of each answer, so it can be transcribed and scored. Audio is sent to a speech-to-text service to make the transcript. Nothing is recorded during the device check.

  • Video is off by default

Video is saved only if you turn on “Record video for review” (Pro and Max). Your camera can stay on for realism with nothing saved — or off entirely.

  • Only you can play it back

Recordings stream only to your account. A shared report link shows scores and feedback, never recordings.

  • Delete any time

Delete one recording from the report, or a whole interview with all its recordings. Recordings are kept until you delete them.

Questions, answered

Each answer is transcribed, then scored by AI on content relevance, structure, clarity, confidence and delivery, and conciseness — plus technical accuracy on technical questions. Pace, filler words, answer length and pauses are measured from your recording and transcript. Treat the scores as a guide for practice, not a prediction of any hiring decision.
